Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the New York Institute of Banking and Finance website, courses, and certificate programs (collectively, the "Services"). By enrolling in a course or using the site, you agree to these Terms.

1. Enrollment & Access

When you enroll in a self-paced course, you receive access to course materials for the duration stated on the course page. Live and virtual cohort classes are delivered on the scheduled dates communicated at enrollment.

2. Payments

Course fees are stated on each course page in US dollars. We do not take card payments through this site: places are confirmed by the registrar and invoiced directly, payable by bank transfer before access opens. Where a program forms part of a certificate track, the fee shown on that course page is the fee payable for it. How enrollment works.

3. Refunds

We would rather you were on the right course than kept on the wrong one. The policy below applies to individual enrollments purchased directly through this site.

3.1 Self-paced courses

You may request a refund within 14 business days of your enrollment date. What you receive depends on how much of the course you have completed at the point the request is received:

  • Less than 50% complete — full refund of the fee paid.
  • 50% or more complete — partial refund of 50% of the fee paid, in recognition of the material already accessed.

Requests received more than 14 business days after the enrollment date cannot be refunded, regardless of completion.

3.2 How completion is measured

Completion is calculated from the lessons you have marked complete, as a percentage of the lessons in that course. The figure shown on your dashboard is the figure we use, so you can check your own position at any time before requesting a refund.

3.3 Live and virtual cohort classes

Cohort places are limited and are reserved in your name, so refunds are based on the class start date rather than on completion:

  • 10 or more business days before the start date — full refund.
  • 1 to 9 business days before the start date — 50% refund.
  • On or after the start date — no refund.

If we cancel or reschedule a cohort, you may transfer to a later cohort at no cost or take a full refund, whichever you prefer.

3.4 How to request a refund

Email info@nyibf.org from the address on your account, stating the course name. You do not need to give a reason. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and, where a refund is due, process it within 10 business days to the original payment method. Refunds cannot be issued to a different card or account.

3.5 Exclusions

  • Courses for which a certificate has already been issued are not refundable — the credential is the deliverable.
  • Enterprise and group bookings are governed by the separate agreement signed at the time of purchase.
  • Accounts suspended for misuse under section 5 below are not eligible.

3.6 Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy removes or limits any cancellation or withdrawal right you hold under the consumer law of your own country. Where a statutory right gives you more than this policy does, the statutory right applies.

4. Certificates

Certificates of completion are issued upon meeting the stated requirements for a given program, which may include assessments, attendance, or project submissions.

5. Acceptable Use

  • Course materials are licensed for individual, personal use and may not be redistributed or resold.
  • Accounts are non-transferable and may not be shared.
  • Any misuse of the platform, including attempts to access other students' accounts or data, may result in suspension.

6. Intellectual Property

All course content, materials, and the institute's name and marks are the property of New York Institute of Banking and Finance and may not be reproduced without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

Course content is provided for educational purposes and does not constitute financial, legal, or investment advice. The institute is not liable for career or business outcomes resulting from course participation.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Contact
