Accreditation & Program Standards
New York Institute of Banking and Finance is an independent professional education provider. Our certificate programs are designed for working professionals building practical, job-ready skills in banking and finance — they are professional development credentials, not academic degrees.
Note: We are not a degree-granting institution and are not accredited by a regional or national academic accrediting agency. Our certificates attest to completion of our own internally developed curriculum and assessment standards.
We hold membership of several bodies concerned with teaching quality and higher education practice, and work to the standards they publish:
Membership is not accreditation. These organisations support and connect institutions around teaching quality; none of them awards academic accreditation, and none of them validates our certificates. We list them because the standards they publish inform how our courses are built and reviewed, not as a substitute for the note above.
Course content is developed and periodically reviewed by an advisory board of finance and banking practitioners, including former analysts, risk managers, and trading professionals, to keep material aligned with current industry practice.
Instructors are selected based on direct professional experience in the discipline they teach, alongside teaching ability, and are re-evaluated as course material is updated.
Certificate programs require completion of stated modules and, where applicable, a final assessment or applied project before a certificate of completion is issued.
Our exam preparation courses (for example, for industry licensing or professional designations) are prepared by our faculty and are not endorsed by, or affiliated with, the organizations that administer those exams unless explicitly stated.
